About FanFlare
Traditional sports sites and social media platforms are fundamentally broken. Algorithms prioritize low-quality content and lack real-time updates and a forum for conversation. Women's Volleyball and Women's Sports as a whole are also painfully underserved, especially on the data side.
FanFlare is here to change things—with a hybrid platform (social media meets live sports data) for fans, and Serve for the programs and staff who need deeper analytics, recruiting, and operations tooling.
The company is the brainchild of two massive sports fans, Elling Hofland and LJ Rader, who met as early employees at DraftKings and also worked alongside each other at Sportradar. They are experts in sports data, engineering, and social media, and are excited to build platforms the community desperately needs.
The Team

LJ Rader is the co-founder and CEO of FanFlare Sports, focusing on the Product and Social sides of the platform.
He previously led the Broadcast Group at Sportradar, and held Product roles at DraftKings and NBC Sports, winning an Emmy Award for his Olympics coverage.

Elling Hofland is the co-founder and CTO of FanFlare Sports, focusing on the Engineering side of the platform.
He started his career at DraftKings before holding Technical Product roles at companies in Sports Data and Retail Technology, focusing on data products and its supporting infrastructure.
A ball-knower (volleyball) and Golden Gopher season ticket holder, he is motivated to build nice things that fans of women's sports deserve.

Pete is FanFlare's Director of Operations and a certified international man of mystery. (Last name: classified.)
He specializes in building and managing reference datasets and encoding deep sports knowledge into our derived products—turning hard-won subject-matter expertise into a semantic understanding of raw data.

Name withheld is FanFlare's resident analytics guru. She prefers to let the numbers do the talking.
Her models are sharp, her insights are sharper, and—for now—her identity stays strictly off the record.
